BIBLES: ONE SCHOOL’S FOUNDATION
Elim Christian College’s new Junior School opened its doors in February to a full role of 350 and widespread acceptance from the surrounding community.
Everyone involved attributes the success of the new Junior Campus at Elim Christian College to the close collaborative partnership between the school, architecture and interior designer consultancy Jasmax and the Arrow Construction Team.
“We regularly opened the doors mid-construction to allow Elim teachers & supporters to look around the school and see what was going on” says Project Manager Mary Easterling. “Small details like placing scriptures and a bible in the floor slabs and writing scriptures on the framing made a big difference to the school community. Its rewarding to see the enjoyment staff and students are getting from the school after the hard yards we’ve put into it”.

CREATING COMMUNITIES
Housing New Zealand recently announced that Creating Communities Limited, made up of Arrow International (Project Strategy & Delivery), Hopper Developments (Land & Property Developers) and Southside Group (Land & Property Developers), as its preferred partner to redevelop 156 existing properties in the Auckland suburb of Glen Innes to create at least 260 new homes. The underlying philosophy is to help create a mixed community with an increased number of higher quality residential dwellings including an affordable housing initiative.
The project is the Corporation’s first significant trial of a new way of delivering housing resources. The key focus is to foster an urban regeneration programme in the Tamaki, East Auckland region, with a combination of new Corporation owned housing, affordable housing and open market housing.
