Salvation Army Porirua Corps Development

Salvation Army Porirua Corps Development

The new building is the hub for the Salvation Army in the Porirua area

The Warspite Avenue building contains facilities for the local community, including a gymnasium, an activities hall and chapel. It also includes the office space from which many services provided by the organisation are managed.

The project included the full refurbishment of the existing building and an addition of 500m2 of new build.

Arrow provided full project and construction management services from the concept design stage through to handover.

The project team worked closely with The Salvation Army on site, setting up a temporary facility, within the existing activities hall, which allowed them to remain fully operational throughout the construction
phase.

We were able to minimise cost and inconvenience for both The Salvation Army and their clients by staging the handover of different areas of the building.

The client was able to take advantage of an early occupation of the new office space prior to completion of the more public facilities and was able to get “up and running” with a smooth transition
that ensured minimal disruption to the provision of services to the community.
